A 300-level Department of Medicine and Surgery at Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State, Iyanuoluwa Odedeji, was appointed as a one-day Vice Chancellor on Wednesday.
The new vice-chancellor also has Motunrayo Odusanya and Similoluwa Adeyemo as deputies.
Odedeji, who served as vice-chancellor in the university’s Senate meeting, ate breakfast in the vice-chancellor’s box and performed other duties in his capacity as vice-chancellor.
The University’s public relations officer, Toba Adaramola, noted that the program was launched in 2020 as part of the University’s plan to prepare students for leadership positions.
He revealed that Odusanya came second among the ten students who participated in the selection exams while Adeyemo came third.
“He has the privilege of leading the University for a day. The ‘breakfast room’ he commissioned was a one-day second vice-chancellor’s initiative in 2021.
“Anything he approves is considered approved by the University, and the vice-chancellor’s salary should be divided by 30 days and given him a portion,” Adaramola added.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor for a day thanked God, the school management and the students, praying that his tenure will open the door for the progress of the University.
