Wayne Pediatrics Diaper Drive is now underway – News from the School of Medicine

Wayne Pediatrics is hosting its second annual Diaper Drive to collect diapers, wipes, diaper cream and more to support families with babies and toddlers in the Detroit community.

One in three mothers in America struggle to provide diapers for their babies.

One in five mothers give up food, utilities and other essentials to provide diapers for her baby.

Some daycare centers turn away children who don’t have enough disposable diapers, causing mothers to miss work or school.

Donations and monetary contributions will be accepted through Feb. 28 at Wayne Health’s headquarters at 400 Mack Ave. in Detroit.

Please make checks payable to Wayne Pediatrics, a 501c3 organization, and note “For diaper collection” in the memo line. Checks can be mailed to Wayne Pediatrics, 400 Mack, Detroit, MI 48201. Cash donations are accepted during business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Wayne Pediatrics is the academic clinical practice that houses the faculty physicians of Wayne State University’s Department of Pediatrics. Wayne Pediatrics offers academic pediatricians who are committed to serving Detroit’s children an opportunity to do so while integrating future physician education, research, patient care, and community engagement.
